Portazo Island Entry #13

After a couple of days of clearing out the wood and underbrush in the area, I was beginning to realize just how large of a task this was. So I decided to try a much faster approach.

The wood and underbrush was really wet so it took a lot of effort to get the fires going and to keep them going. After I got the fires going I built a boat and set off for the island I saw off in the distance days before. I needed to get some more unique types of wood to bring back to the island, as well as some flowers co I could make some dyes and start colouring things.

As I sailed across the ocean, I started to do some thinking. I had been on that island for weeks and was still not able to get much rebuilding done. I reached the other island and quickly gather a few new types of trees and returned the island. I planted a few saplings and started to lay out the foundation for the next building on the island.

I figured the best way to start bringing people to the island would be to build a lighthouse so the island would be visible even at night. After the foundation was laid I gathered up some fence and marked out a small area where I could keep some sheep. I took some wheat and lead the sheep into the small pen and dyed a few bright red.

As night fell I began to wonder when people might begin to arrive. And then I remembered the eggs I had found earlier. I had been so busy trying to survive on this island I had forgotten about these strange eggs. I decided that I needed to check on them soon. The next day I began construction on a new house so that when the time came, there would be room for the first testificate to move in.

Portazo Island Entry #12

I made it back to my original camp without a problem. When I got there I found my cat waiting for me. He meowed happily at me and began to rub himself on my leg.

I took some of the iron ore and stuffed it in the furnace and lit some coal under it to begin the smelting process. While waiting I went to return to my house, only to find it raining and pitch black. I could see now why the cat chose to came inside.

After a good portion of the iron had been smelted I gathered it up and made myself a suit of armor and a new sword.

With my new armor and sword I felt safe enough to venture over to my house. As I opened the door I called my cat to my side and ventured off. I made it to the house alright and my cat rushed inside. I climbed into my bed and slept through the rest of the night.

That morning the rain had cleared up. I decided today's project would be to move my farm closer to the house and build a fence to keep those creatures out. There wasn't a whole lot of room right next to my house so I decided my first task for this project would be to make some more level room to farm on.

After some work I had managed to lay out some paths and dig some channels to water the crops with.

And after a little more I had all the water in and my seeds well on their way to growing.

I felt like I was finally settled in on the island. My project now was to begin clearing out some more trees so i could start building more structures.
